Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

-Matthew 28:19-20

The Brotherhood Union is a group, many of few, of consecrated men undergirding of supporting the enitre program of The Church and Denomination. It is not something thought up in the mind of man, it is of divine origin. The Biblical beginning of The Brotherhood Union is found in the 18th chapter of Exodus and Acts 7:38. The objective of The Brotherhood Union is to enlist every layman in The Church, Junior or Senior, and cause them to be useful in service to Christ. Under the Brother Union are the young men of the church called the Young David’s and Junior Laymen between the ages of 8 to Adult.

The Brotherhood Union has a fourfold purpose:

  • To deepen men spiritually or to deepen the spirituality of men
  • To promote religious intelligence
  • To cultivate Christian fellowship
  • To win the lost to Christ (Matthew 28:19-20)

Sunday Church School

“Study to show thy self approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed Rightly dividing the word of truth.”

2Tim 2:15

The most active agency in the teaching ministry of the Christian Church is the Sunday School. As the name suggest, it is a church sponsored school that meets for study and worship on Sunday.

The Aim of the  Sunday Church School

The primary aim of the Sunday Church School is to offer religious instruction to all ages from infancy through adulthood. This is done through evangelism and teaching.

It is safe to say then, that the Sunday Church School serves as booth the Evangelistic and teaching arms of the church. Evangelism is the arm that extends beyond the local church into the community to teach individuals and families. While teaching is the arm that embrace the children and adults of the local congregation, keeping them from straying away by instructing them in God’s Word.

The Mission of the Sunday Church School

The mission of the Sunday Church School is to carry out its aims. Its mission then is twofold; 1. To reach the Lost. This is done through evangelism which can be achieved by (A) a witnessing to the community. (B) witnessing to the local congregation, and (C) witnessing to those who sit in our Sunday Church school classes each Sunday. Matthew 28:19-20
